We’ve heard the rumors of next-gen consoles running only when connected to the internet, which would be very unfair for many gamers worldwide, especially in places like Lebanon where the internet is absolute garbage, mildly speaking.
But there is hope yet! According to a leaked email circulating among Microsoft’s full-time Xbox team, the new Xbox will be “designed to deliver the future of entertainment while engineered to be tolerant of today’s Internet. There are a number of scenarios that our users expect to work without an Internet connection, and those should ‘just work’ regardless of their current connection status. Those include, but are not limited to: playing a Blu-ray disc, watching live TV, and yes playing a single player game.”
I’m not gonna hold my breath on this, but if it’s true (we’ll find out come later this month), it’ll mean that the game industry’s big-wigs still do give somewhat of a damn for their fanbase beyond those connected to said big-wigs’ servers.
Y’all take care now
